- Utilize the online catalog, Destiny, to enhance my reading life
- Summarize, retell and/or share with peers about favorite books I have read
- Identify and locate Mark Twain Nominees
Information Literacy Student Learning Targets:
- Uses advanced features in library’s online catalog for intended purposes
- Apply Dewey Decimal System for locating nonfiction
- Evaluate sources for currency, authority, reliability, and purpose
- Participate in the research process by locating information (in print and/or digital sources) and applying the process to seek new knowledge
- Construct new knowledge by problem-solving through cycles of design, implementation, and reflection
- Acknowledge authorship and demonstrate respect for the intellectual property of others
- Cite sources used for research
- Identify and define copyright and plagiarism
Technology Student Learning Targets:
- Use district provided login and password to access my students accounts (i.e. Google, Destiny) at school and/or at home
- Understand navigation tools available in the Internet browser (back, refresh, home, bookmarks, tab, etc.) and identify URL
- Navigate web pages and find information needed using the navigation bar and search bar
- Utilize features from the toolbar menus (Google Docs/Slides, etc…) to manipulate the text and other visual aspects of the digital presentation
- Create a multimedia presentation-collaborate or share with peers and/or librarian using district Google accounts
- Use technology to categorize and sort information
Digital Citizenship Student Learning Targets:
- Understand the importance of digital etiquette when working on shared documents or apps
- Use technology tools in ways that help rather than harm yourself or others
- Recognize that not everything on the internet is true
- Recognize that photos can be altered digitally
- Consider pros and cons of the practice of photo alteration
- Understand that the practice of photo alteration can distort own perceptions and self-image
- Think critically about my own perception of news and information I consume
