Check Out Guidelines
There are no fines for overdue books. However, if a book is severely damaged or lost, you will be asked to pay the replacement cost of that book.
- All books are due on the next library day which is typically one week from the check out date.
- Students may renew books they are still reading.
- Once a student has reached their check out limit, books must be returned to check out new books.
- for example: a child who has three books checked out and only returns two may only check out two new books.
- If a student forgets all of their books, they will be allowed to check out as soon as the books are returned. The practice of being responsible for library books will help students learn and refine the skills of self-organization and responsibility.
- Extra checkout (visiting the library outside of a scheduled class time) is welcomed and encouraged with classroom teachers' permission. This is a great way to foster the love of reading!
